native low water plant front-garden with orange california poppies

Lawn-less in Los Angeles!

This lawn-free front yard in Los Angeles stopped me in my tracks!

Filled with lively succulentsMediterranean plants and California natives, I was enamored with the simple color combination of yellows, oranges and a touch of red.

An important design feature in lawn less landscapes is a non-flat garden floor.

A dynamic garden features mounded garden beds to showcase low growing, cascading plants.

When you replace a large flat area that was once covered with lawn, consider adding some soft berms or mounds.

Your new lawn less garden will look more interesting.

Who says drought tolerant plants are drab?
