Beanie Baby used as mouse pad

Beat “Blogger’s Wrist” with Beanie Babies!

This unassuming Beanie Baby is great for my wrist!

I don’t know about you, but I spend a lot of time at my computer each day, conducting business and blogging away.

My wrist is starting to talk back to me and has been complaining of overuse and irritation from rubbing against the desk when I use my mouse.

Can you relate?

My gel pad is no good.

I threw it away long ago.

In it’s place is a soft, shaggy pink fluffy stuffed dog that feels luxurious against my skin.

I’t’s  not an authentic “Beanie Baby”  but “stuffed pink dog” doesn’t flow as well for a  blog post title.

I’m raiding my daughters collection of  stuffed mememorabilia, and taking those stuffed animals off of “dust catching” duty and putting them to my employ as wrist rests. (Say that 3 time fast!)

I guess when you think about it, the stuffed characters will still be on “clean up duty” as they’ll be wiping my desk every-time I move my mouse!

I love double duty.

I want to hear  about how you combat your bloggers wrist, so leave a comment.

If my idea takes off, you read it here first and you can back me up when I bill my 10% commission.

And you thought I was only good for “off the wall” garden design ideas!

  1. I get your humor, don’t worry! Good to hear from you Anna. Hope the move has been an easy one.

  2. Opps, sometimes my humor sounds better in person. I meant that I liked the idea! It beats those boring wrist pads. I think college kids would be the biggest market for them. Every college campus has a blog site. If you did them in collge colors? You’d have a hit. If you did them in say—like a sunflower..my favorite flower..I’d like one. I would actually put it under my elbow. I sit on the couch and type on my lap top and it’s my elbow that needs the support.

  3. Thanks Cinj!

  4. Very inventive. I like it!

  5. Shirley, I’ve seen that dog and he didn’t look like that before you abused him. He used to be white and well groomed. Now he’s absorbed your hysteria and you need the Pink Fluffy Beanie Baby whisperer to give that poor thing therapy. I think he might have some gastrointestinal problems too but you need to consult an professional about that.

As for the fatigue wrist problem—-I think it could be cured with a whipping motion. You know, like whipping up a batch of brownies or some such thing. Some how, chocolate cures everything. If you decide to market Fulffy pink wrist supports, name them appropriately. Call one Weed, another–oh I know–one could be a little lion and call him Dandy Lion. Have a little dandelion stitched to his rear.

  6. Hi Lin,
That’s a good idea about alternating hands- I never thought of that. I like that I can write with the other. I’m going to try it now.

  7. I like the idea of Beanie Babies or “stuffed pink dogs” as methods of avoiding carpal tunnel syndrome! I’ve been a computer user for many years and my wrists are painfree (thank goodness!) which I think is due in part, at least, to taking hourly exercise breaks and raising my hands and rotating them, while making and opening fists, and then flexing my wrists. Takes just a few minutes. I also would switch my mousing hand once in awhile. I’m right-handed, but prefer to mouse left. Frees my writing hand up. I use a laptop most of the time nowadays, but still do the exercises. While not as cute as your method, it works for me! 😉
